Country Living in Driftwood
If living near Austin is your dream but your thinking country, not city, then take a look at the area of Driftwood. Located just to the southwest of Austin is the growing community of Driftwood with plenty of country homes as well as newer subdivision such as Sierra West, Rim Rock and La Ventana. This area is ideally suited for Austin commuters, where one can do their shopping in the city and retire to the peace and quiet of the country in Driftwood. If you are looking for a country town with storefronts and congestion then this may not be the place for you. If quiet and slow pace is what you are seeking, take the short drive out and take a look. It is beautiful rolling country with pastures, creeks and tall Oak trees. Two highly acclaimed restaurants are found here and worth the drive alone. Try the famous Salt Lick BBQ on FM 1826 or the Trattoria -Italian, complete with vineyards on FM 150.
