I am blessed to call Wimberley home. Surrounded by hills in a peaceful valley where the Blanco River and Cypress Creek converge...simply put a land of beauty. We are a wonderful assortment of artists, musicians, retirees, shop owners, aging hippies, teachers, commuters, business owners, retired military and every other kind of people. Wimberley is a great place to live and a fun place to visit with lots of entertaining things to do. We boast a theatre department which manages to find itself in the state finals most every year as well as hosting the only high school accredited Shakespeare theatre in the U.S. Here in Wimberley high school students from throughout the state, perform in Shakespeare Under the Stars during the summer, and learn acting, set building, wardrobe production and everything in between. Our kids swim in local water holes like the infamous Blue Hole, located on Cypress Creek and now a city park. Jacob's Well is another favorite and when blessed with abundent rain, floating the Blanco is a local pastime. On summer nights, around dusk, we head to the Corral Theatre to sit under the stars and watch a movie, bringing our favorite lawn chair and beverage of choice. For golf enthusiasts Wimberley offers the Quicksand golf course which rambles through the Woodcreek community. On the first Saturday of every month (except Jan. and Feb.) is Wimberley Market Days where hundreds of vendors sell their wares at an outdoor market. Then there is Butterfly Days and the Wimberley Pie Social and Gospel Fest and the rodeo and the Jazz Fest and on and on. Wimberley is a wonderful place to be, filled with wonderful people who are proud to say " I am from Wimberley."
